At Lion Heart Leadership Africa, we are raising leaders and visionaries from every generation, starting with children and extending to seasoned professionals, equipping them to lead with courage, integrity, and cultural understanding.

Our focus for 2026 is Nigeria, where we are building a new model of leadership development that blends local wisdom with global excellence. Through schools, youth programs, professional training, and community partnerships, we are creating environments where leadership is discovered early, developed intentionally, and sustained through mentorship.

Our Journey

The Lion Heart Leadership Africa movement was born from experience, not observation.

Dr. Lavonya Shinelle Douglas has traveled to Nigeria twice, engaging with educators, ministry leaders, and community innovators to understand the nation’s leadership landscape firsthand. Those encounters shaped the foundation for our 2026 vision to cultivate leaders from childhood through adulthood who embody purpose, faith, and excellence.

From classrooms and roundtable discussions to cultural immersion experiences, each moment deepened the belief that leadership in Africa must be grown from within. These journeys affirmed that true transformation begins when local wisdom, community partnership, and global collaboration meet.

Who We Are

Lion Heart Leadership Africa is an initiative of the Lion Heart Global Institute, founded by Dr. Lavonya Douglas, an International Organizational Leadership Psychologist, Luxury Leadership Globetrotter, and Global Speaker.

With more than 23 years of experience in justice reform, community corrections, and leadership development in the U.S. capital, Dr. Douglas has navigated male-dominated spaces, challenged systemic barriers, and led diverse teams toward transformation. These lived experiences fuel her mission to disrupt the status quo, empower women, and create a global leadership movement rooted in cultural partnership and authenticity.

Listening First: 2026 is a Listening Tour to learn the leadership needs of each nation before prescribing solutions.
Empowering Women & Leaders: Training, certification, and scholarships for 50+ emerging leaders and grassroots organizations.
Justice Reform & Rehabilitation: Partnering with corrections and community-based systems to strengthen rehabilitation and reintegration.
Research & Evidence: Fellowship programs that document evidence-based leadership practices through qualitative and quantitative research.
Global Transformation: Using insights to publish a Global Leadership Transformation Report, shaping leadership far beyond the tour.
